Born in Paris in 2001, Lucien Lyon lives and works in Brussels. With a bachelor's and master's degree in Visual Arts from ENSAV La Cambre, he has developed a visual art practice combining painting, sculpture, and installation.
His work explores the notions of youth, learning, brutality, and construction through a reflection on the materiality and uses of objects.
He mainly uses raw materials from the world of construction, such as mortar, wood, and plaster, often salvaged, which he diverts from their original function to give them a new existence.
Loaded with meaning, these elements become the medium for a dialogue between structural rigor and personal imagination. Through his works, Lucien Lyon questions the idea of construction, both material and identity-related, and creates spaces where memories, intimate references, and archetypes confront the reality of the materials that shape our environment.
His work has been presented in several group and solo exhibitions in Brussels, France, and Belgium, notably at La Cambre, La Mercerie, La Polyclinique, Galerie Nostrum, and the La Cambre Graduation Show. In 2025, he received the Prix des Amis de La Cambre and the Prix des Cressonnières, distinctions that recognize his unique and constantly evolving artistic approach.
